NE’s largest PACE urges CT Legislature to approve program

Says Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly keeps older adults living independently at home

Worcester, Mass., April 10, 2023 ― Fallon Health, the largest Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly in New England, today urged the State of Connecticut House of Representatives to pass a measure authorizing PACE to be an option for Medicaid members. PACE provides complete care for independent living while supporting family caregivers.

“PACE has a strong track record of success across the country. Its programs have received widespread support from participants, caregivers, and the health care community,” said Richard Burke, President & CEO of Fallon Health. “Through our successful work with our own PACE programs, we have seen this firsthand. That is why, on behalf of Fallon Health, I urge the committee to support the introduction of PACE in Connecticut.”

Fallon Health is supporting two PACE-related bills – HB6677, An Act Concerning Adult Day Centers, which is before the joint Human Services and Aging Committees, and HB6626, An Act Concerning Long Term Care, which is being considered by the Appropriations Committee. HB6677 is also on the State of Connecticut House of Representatives calendar today.

Fallon Health operates five PACE centers in Massachusetts and one in New York serving a total of approximately 1,450 people. In all, PACE operates in 32 states and the District of Columbia.
